Welcome to KIRCHENWALD SHEPHERDS, Breeders of World Class German Shepherd Dogs!

  KIRCHENWALD SHEPHERDS was founded as an elite show/working breeding kennel in 1997.

KIRCHENWALD means "Church's Woods" in German.  It is a direct translation of our family name, "Kirkwood".   The Breeder worked for nearly 40 years as a Cathedral organist--that is, before retiring to play with dogs on Sunday mornings!  The new kennel building and training field are located deep in the woods north of Pittsburgh, PA--on the corner of Shepherd Road!

KIRCHENWALD is the home of Keystone-Buckeye Hundesport, a Schutzhund and SV-style Conformation training club.
